The fact that there is no bottom piece of glass is a surprise I don't appreciate. If you notice, product photos take great effort to avoid revealing this. And written descriptions are useless. And when calling in - it took the customer service person to call the supplier to find this out. Gee, seems deceptive...and who likes to feel they've been deceived? Minor as it is in the scheme of deception, but nonetheless, it's dishonest.
I like the fixture and the service was fine - quick delivery...but when I look up at the fixture, I hate seeing the top of the bulb with the 75W printing on it. Not as attractive as a cream-colored piece of glass, no?
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I purchased three of these lights for my house. They are very flimsy, and although the color was supposed to be a bronze patina, it was an ugly darkish purple color. I was able to spray paint the metal, and even though they are not really very expensive, I wish I would have spent a few dollars more for a better quality product.
Bottom Line: No, I would not recommend this to a friend
